We are pressing on…
Since our last update, we have experienced what seemed like a significant setback.
During Vaughn’s trip to Honduras in May 2025, he began noticing concerning heart symptoms. Upon returning to the USA, he went to the ER and ended up spending eight days in the hospital. Doctors discovered an 80% blockage in his left main coronary artery — often called “the widow-maker.” They successfully placed a stent in the blocked area.
After a lengthy recovery of seven months, his cardiologist finally cleared him to travel abroad again. In January, Vaughn and Becky returned to Honduras. Becky stayed only a few days to visit with Vaughn, Joaquin, and friends at the very special ministry called Jeremiah 29:11 World Mission (www.Mission2911.com). Vaughn stayed on a few more days to minister with Joaquin at a Pastor conference. It was a great time with the Pastors.
God has powerfully moved in both Vaughn’s and Becky’s hearts to come alongside the leadership of this mission, offering consulting, representation, and partnership. You will be hearing much more about this exciting development soon. In the meantime, please take a look at their website for more information. Vaughn is currently working hard to build their new site, so check back often for updates.
Joaquin and his wife Sandra continue to serve actively — teaching, sharing the gospel, and engaging in various ministry endeavors. God has opened many doors for them to preach and disciple those who are hungry to grow in their faith.
Recently, Sandra was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She is doing well and will begin treatment in May. Please keep her in your prayers.
Vaughn is planning to return to Honduras in June to check on several projects at the mission. He will spend time with Joaquin and Sandra, loving on them and offering encouragement.
Please continue to pray for Vaughn and Becky as they walk through this transition from Senior Pastors to mission work with Jeremiah 29:11 World Mission and BTN Honduras. It has truly been an incredible testimony of God’s grace reshaping their hearts and preparing them for even greater Kingdom work.
